The Complaints Assessment Committee (CAC) reviews complaints concerning impairment and disciplinary matters in relation to a person who is a nurse or midwife or who was a nurse or midwife when the disciplinary matter occurred.
In accordance with Sections 54(2), 54(3) and 54(4) of the Nurses and Midwives Act 2006, the Complaints Assessment Committee reviews complaints lodged with it by any person, by the Director of the Health Services (Conciliation and Review) Act 1995 or as subject to its determination that a matter be dealt with as if it were subject of a complaint despite no complaint having been made to it.
