The Professional Practice Advisory Committee (PPAC) advises NMBWA on issues relating to professional nursing and/or midwifery practice, determines guidelines for the scope of practice and develops or reviews NMBWA publications as required.
In supporting NMBWA to meet its regulatory responsibilities, the Professional Practice Advisory Committee:
- considers and comments on national and international issues and trends that may have direct or indirect implications for professional nursing and midwifery practice

reviews, revises and develops:

policies, guidelines and position statements relating to nursing and midwifery

NMBWA publications relating to practice

establishes sub-committees to advise on various matters relating to professional nursing and midwifery practice.
Experts as required, as ex-officio members, may be invited from the Network Advisory Panel to facilitate committee business. The Professional Practice Advisory Committee Terms of Reference are available below.
