PLEASE NOTE:
If you are required to undertake a
‘Registration Bridging Program’, please be aware that current availability of
courses may be limited.
For existing NMBWA applicants who are
overseas trained and/or out of practice and have pending’ or ‘subject to’
status who need to complete a ‘Registration Bridging Program’ or conversion, NMBWA
has extended the time period to achieve this, from two to three years.
For further information and contact
details, please download the document below.
There are currently two types of bridging courses that lead to registration. One is a bridging program for nurses and midwives who have completed their nursing or midwifery education overseas, and the other is a renewal of registration program for nurses or midwives who have not worked as a nurse or midwife for five years or more.
Follow the link for information regarding English Language requirements.
Entry into one or other of these programs is subject to the nurse or midwife completing the application process for registration and obtaining from the Board a letter of eligibility that entitles them to commence the relevant program.
Please refer to the National Competency Standards for Registered Nurses, Midwives, Nurse Practitioners and Enrolled Nurses.
