Strategic Planning and Leadership
Ensures a strategic planning framework is in place in consultation with the NMBWA Board.
Develops an annual business plan to achieve the strategic objectives of NMBWA.
Ensures strategic goals related to the management of the organisation are achieved to agreed standards and timelines.
Monitors the changing needs of health care consumers and the activities of the nursing and midwifery professions and advises the NMBWA Board.
Manages legal risk by monitoring the quality, cost and timeliness of legal advice to NMBWA.
Represents the views of NMBWA in strategic, high level forums within the state, nationally and internationally.
Governance and Executive Support
Provides expert policy advice to the Minister for Health, members of the NMBWA Board and staff on strategic and all other relevant issues which impact nursing and midwifery.
Ensures appropriate secretariat support to ensure communication and reporting to the NMBWA Board in a timely and efficient manner.
Ensures necessary administrative and other support is available to sub-committees and other working groups of NMBWA.
Assists the Presiding Member in their leadership role.
Ensures all documents and records pertaining to the work of NMBWA are appropriately managed.
Ensures transparency of all operations with regard to the functioning of NMBWA.
Stakeholder Relationships
Build collaboarative partnerships and networks with stakeholders by developing and maintaining effective communications and consultation.
Actively promotes the role and function of NMBWA to external stakeholders.
Contributes to decision-making affecting the regulation of nursing and midwifery at national and international fora.
